Five State Photography Competition

I am considering entering the local Five State Photography Competition at the Hays Art Gallery.  I have never entered before, and am nervous about this year.  Below are the two portraits I am considering entering this year.   I want to create emotion in the viewer.  Fear, Frustration, Mystery, Sadness.  And I hope I conveyed that with these two portraits.
